Rebecca has been a guardian since 2013 and chair since 2015. She is employed as a research advisor with the New Zealand Antarctic Research Institute.
Rebecca has gained a broad knowledge and appreciation of Fiordland’s land and marine environments from her ecological research in the past 10 years. She believes that translating technical information is essential for good communication between managers and scientists.
Rebecca has a PhD in marine sciences from the University of Otago and has experience in industry, government and academic settings. She is a member of the New Zealand Marine Sciences Society and the Institute of Directors.
